More and more artists are realising the potency of their tour announcements as a practical means for selling albums.

In 2017 Ticketmaster Artist Services worked with major artists including Sam Smith and Paloma Faith (shown above), as well as with Liam Gallagher and debut breakthrough of the year Rag'n'Bone Man to deliver album pre-order for presale access campaigns.

In each instance Ticketmaster contacted its database of hundreds of thousands of concert-goers with official album purchase links and instructions on how to access the upcoming presales with detailed messages across all its marketing channels.

Liam, Paloma and Sam all scored UK No.1 albums, with Ticketmaster driving in excess of 10% of their week one volumes, proving the power of the mechanic.
