Overview

Both Citadel and Lovebox festivals moved to Gunnersbury Park and welcomed some excellent acts. Citadel was headlined by Tame Impala along with a mesmerising mixture of new and established talent including CHVRCHES and upstarts Matt Maltese and Dermot Kennedy, whilst Lovebox welcomed the likes of Skepta, Bicep, Childish Gambino, Anderson .Paak and SZA. Our ticketing technology, proved to be an adaptable and flexible solution catering to the different needs of each festival over the July weekend, and here are some interesting facts:

Lovebox:

  • Number of box offices: 5 – with 2 used by Ticketmaster! 
  • Number of staff members on site: 13 + 2 x field IT staff (per day)
  • Number of scanners used: 60 scanners (45 assigned to the lanes and 15 to the box office)
  • Scanning managed by a third party (and TM provided training on their usage)
  • Scan data reporting: Real-time scan data was sent to the promoter every 15 minutes
  • Access via digital print pass only
  • Onsite collections, sales and duplicates: Digital tickets were sent to customers and in turn, they had to be scanned at the box office, where customers were given a hard stock gate pass which was then scanned at the main gate

Citadel:

  • Number of box offices: 1 
  • Number of staff members on site: 10 staff + 2 x Field IT staff (per day)
  • Number of scanners used: 20
  • Access via digital print pass only (customers could gain entry using their phone, or printout)
  • Ability to utilise non-Ticketmaster staff that had never seen the Front Gate product before due to its ease of use
  • Client Account Managers could set up access control reporting on the move from their phones which allowed supervisors to roam and manage staff onsite, instead of being tied to a computer
  • Scanning managed by a third party (and TM provided training on their usage)

Organisers at both Lovebox and Citadel were pleased with the end results and how the system performed. In addition to things like quick checkout options, VIP experience upsells, group bookings, payment plans and cash payments, the system offers rich analytics along with all the functions essential to box office and access control.
